Abstract

URIBE-LOTERO, Claudia Patricia; DONOSO-FIGUEIREDO, Diana  and  RAMIREZ-RAYMOND, Alfredo. From Social Mapping to Understanding Socio-Educative Contexts. Aleth. rev. desarro. hum. educ. soc. contemp. [online]. 2017, vol.9, n.2, pp.74-92. ISSN 2145-0366.

The following article gives an account of how Social Mapping can be used to unders tand the socio-educational context of the families of three students that live in poor urban territories. These students are part of an educational program from a private organization. To fulfill the purpose of understanding the social contexts, it is necessary to understand how the families have built their images of the context where they live and develop. Because of its flexibility, social mapping allows us to portray the intersubjective linkages within a territory from the perspective of these families' educational aspirations.

Keywords : Social mapping; territory; socio-educational context; poverty.
