Abstract
HERRERO, MARIELA. PROXIMITY TIMES. MOVEMENT, DRIFT, AND ENCOUNTER IN THE VISUAL PRODUCTION OF NICOLA COSTANTINO. perifrasis. rev.lit.teor.crit. [online]. 2022, vol.13, n.26, pp.102-122. Epub May 15, 2022. ISSN 2145-8987. https://doi.org/10.25025/perifrasis202213.26.06.
Addressing three works by Nicola Constantino, Trailer (2010), Vanity (2011), and Alterity (2012) from the point of view of transtemporality, since I consider that these productions propose a dialogue with the history of photography and art, mediated by unusual temporalities: from the loop and heterochrony to simultaneity and the future. Likewise, I will analyze them as producers of encounters and relationships through a mechanism that consists of the revisitation and re-elaboration of classic works that make up the History of Art. The image will thus function as a fertile ground for the proliferation of possible stories, as a generator of stories and meanings.
Keywords : contemporary art; Nicola Costantino; temporalities; visual studies; Latin America.
