Introduction
Management of undergraduate nursing courses encounters numerous tasks and challenges for those choosing to perform this task. A Competency Profile could contribute to the praxis of professionals. The aim was to describe the criteria for the construction and validation of a Competency Profile for Higher Education Nursing Managers.
Materials and Methods
Content validation study conducted with 21 judges. The Competency Profile contained 62 items distributed in the educational, administrative, and individual domains with 20, 22 and 20 affirmative, respectively.
Results
The internal consistency estimated via Cronbach's alpha coefficient ranged from 0.79 to 0.88 and the Content Validity Index reached values between 0.88 and 0.95.
Discussion
The educational domain presented the most suggestions and considerations and the administrative domain obtained higher scores in the agreement analysis.
Conclusions:
The Competency Profile met the minimum requirements established and could be used in the target population.
