A knowledge of the position of different countries regarding innovation is essential for business progress. This research aimed to determine the position of Spain and Russia with regard to innovation. To this end, the World Economic Forum reports were used, which surveyed entrepreneurs and managers in 133 economies, with a special focus on questions in the technology and innovation sections. The time horizon used for the study was a decade, from 2007-2008 to 20172018. The main results highlighted that Russia has a lower global position than Spain in terms of research and technology, although without implying a great distance.
