Abstract

DEL VALLE PERESINI, Natalí. The mechanisms of public-private linkage in local urban management. A journey through a case study. Rev. Ciudades Estados Política [online]. 2020, vol.7, n.2, pp.59-75.  Epub Dec 14, 2021. ISSN 2462-9103.

The article presents the advances of an ongoing research project2, which deals with the neoliberalization process in the local urban management in the city of Cordoba, Argentina, between 1983 and 2019. The research, framed within the critical urban studies framework, investigates the conditions under which neo-liberalism is deployed for real in local urban management. Different public-private linkage instruments were analyzed to identify their evolution. The results made possible to identify institutions and actors that promote these mechanisms, the evolution of the linkage forms and the degree of institutionalization achieved, in order to verify the large influence and progress of the neoliberalization process in local urban management, aided by different lobbying strategies promoted by different business agents.

Keywords : public-private alliance; urban development; local government; urban neoliberalism; urban regulation.
