Abstract

RODRIGUEZ NUPAN, ELVER ARMANDO. "Tear Down the Houses so They Will Not Be Restored to Them". Creation of the "Parroquia" of Sogamoso, 1777-1810. Front. hist. [online]. 2014, vol.19, n.2, pp.96-120. ISSN 2027-4688.

This paper addresses the process of extinction of the "resguardo" of Sogamoso and the creation of the parish of white people between 1777 and 1810. Following two spots: the progressive miscegenation, which consolidated the neighbors as an emerging social group and the failure of the "resguardos" as a productive unit, it deepens into the details of the local network to understand the interests behind the indigenous, neighbors and officials behavior. This work wants to contribute to the understanding the social process often addressed in a general way by modern historiography.

Keywords : Miscegenation; New Kingdom of Granada; parish; "resguardo"; Sogamoso.
