Abstract

VELEZ CASTANO, Hernán Darío. The Park Ranger Family Program: a Look at the Political Discourse of the Government of Álvaro Uribe Vélez. Trab. soc. [online]. 2016, n.18, pp.179-197. ISSN 2256-5493.

During the government of Alvaro Uribe Vélez, the Park Ranger Family program of alternative development was implemented, focusing on peasant families from all regions of Colombia. To publicly legitimize the involvement of these families in a program of war on drug trafficking within the framework of a policy of defense and not rural development involved an important discursive effort by this government. This case is looked at along some key epistemological and methodological guidelines for Social Work within the framework of a review of public policies using discourse analysis and grounded theory.

Keywords : discourse analysis; alternative development; political discourse; Park Ranger Families; public policies; grounded theory.
