Abstract

DIAZ MATEUS, Luz Adriana. Social Policy and Capitalist Production of Relations. Trab. soc. [online]. 2016, n.18, pp.235-245. ISSN 2256-5493.

This article looks at the relationship between the production of social relations in capitalist society and social policies. It shows the close relationships between both by considering the latter as a mechanism of reproduction of the contradictions arising from this mode of production, as these reproduce conditions of appropriation, distribution and accumulation of capital. Social policies are seen as an attempt to balance the contradictions between social welfare and capital accumulation, which makes them useful in the regulation of labor-capital relations by not confronting the ownership over the means of production or the expansion of profit.

Keywords : capital accumulation; social welfare; interests of capital; human needs; social policy; capitalist social relations.
