Abstract
FARRERAS, Verónica and HUANCA, Gisel. Economic Valuation of an Improvement in the Labor Conditions of Informal Collectors of Recyclable Materials in Guaymallén, Argentina. Trab. soc. [online]. 2019, vol.21, n.1, pp.117-143. ISSN 2256-5493. https://doi.org/10.15446/ts.v21n1.70327.
This case study inferred the economic value of an improvement in the labor conditions of informal collectors of recyclable materials in Guaymallén, Argentina. The discrete choice experiment method was used to estimate a group of citizens' willingness to pay for the implementation of policies that might simultaneously mitigate the health problems and traffic-related injuries that affect the quality of life of informal collectors. This analysis could be of special interest for the formulation of public policies aimed at generating efficient management of urban solid waste.
Keywords : economic valuation; discrete choice; health problems; informal collectors; wellbeing.
