Abstract

BULA BELENO, Alfredo Andrés  and  CUELLO SANTANA, Vivian Fernanda. Subjects in Transit and Border Sexualities. Rights of LGBT Venezuelan Migrants in the Colombian Caribbean. Trab. soc. [online]. 2019, vol.21, n.2, pp.169-195. ISSN 2256-5493.  https://doi.org/10.15446/ts.v21n2.75258.

The increase of Venezuelan migration to Colombia has posed multiple institutional and social challenges for the country. One of them is the identification of the differentiated needs of people arriving at the border, such as LGBT migrants. This research is an exploratory-descriptive exercise aimed at understanding the living conditions of lgbt persons during their transit from Venezuela to the Colombian Caribbean region, understanding gender and sexual orientation as factors that shape the experience of migration. The data obtained shows the flaws in the guarantee of rights when the abovementioned factors are added to the migratory condition.

Keywords : discrimination; LGBT persons; migrants; prejudice; rights; Venezuelans.
