Abstract
SOMALE, Marisel Adriana. El método pedagógico en Amor y pedagogía de Miguel de Unamuno. Enunciación [online]. 2021, vol.26, n.2, pp.293-298. ISSN 0122-6339. https://doi.org/https://doi.org/10.14483/22486798.18224.
The pedagogical method in Unamuno’s Love and Pedagogy is analyzed. In every pedagogic act, there should be a balance between the person we want to educate, the objectives for which the person is educated, and the methods through which we attain it. In Love and Pedagogy, the reader can indulge in the game between Unamuno’s joke and criticism towards the reality of his time, in which faith and science were poles apart. Through his work, Unamuno uses the protagonist’s voice to express his disagreement with the current science and pedagogy of the time to reveal his discontent in the tendency towards following strict and severe rules. The comprehensive, although not exhaustive study of diverse significant passages in the novel allow discovering the philosopher’s attack to science and pedagogy by means of the three elements that comprise the pedagogical method. This attack to pedagogy is against the formalisms of the end of the century, in which strict methods evinced an unrestrained enthusiasm for pedagogy. It is concluded that Unamuno despised the stiffness of the introduced methods because they left humankind unattended, since its singularity was underestimated while society was homogenized.
