Abstract

Objective:

To determine the level of quality of professional life of professors of the faculty of medicine of a university in Lambayeque, Peru.

Materials and methods:

Cross-sectional descriptive study carried out at the Catholic University Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo to a population of 264 professors of the Faculty of Medicine, whose sample was 159, chosen proportionally to the number of professors stratified by the schools that make up the faculty, applying the Quality of Professional Life (QoPL-35) questionnaire.

Results:

A good QoPL was obtained, with an average of 6.74 of 10. Intrinsic motivation reached an average of 7.91 (good), hour load got an average of 4.71 (poor), and managerial support, an average of 6.48 (good).

Conclusions:

The perception of QoPL is good, highlighting intrinsic motivation, although there is an excessive hour load, intrinsic motivation and managerial support are compensatory elements in the quality of life of professors.
