Abstract
TORRES VALDIVIESO, Sergio and GARCIA CACERES, Rafael Guillermo. Supply chain governance forms: a literature review and a research model proposal. Cuad. Adm. [online]. 2008, vol.21, n.35, pp.65-91. ISSN 0120-3592.
This article is aimed at presenting medicinal supply chain governance forms in a group of agencies that work with the contributive healthcare system in Bogotá. Based on Oliver E. Williamsons definition, a four-way classification analytical model has been designed, to characterize the supply chain exchanges: forms of interaction, forms of coordination, the legal contract, and the type of economic incentive. Likewise, ideal forms of governance for economic exchange are classified (markets, strategic alliances, and vertical integration). The chain characterization was conducted using the model as well as a qualitative interview-based methodology. Results show that there are several arrangements that go from vertical integration to the market; notwithstanding, current exchange conditions lead us to hope that alliances will be a strategy more frequently used in the future than they are now.
