Abstract
ROBLEDO VELASQUEZ, Jorge and CEBALLOS, Yony Fernando. Study of an innovation process using system dynamics. Cuad. Adm. [online]. 2008, vol.21, n.35, pp.127-159. ISSN 0120-3592.
This article seeks to contribute to developing innovation process simulation models that use system dynamics. The situation employed was the introduction of electricity generation technologies into a rural community in a non-interconnected zone in a developing country, to allow focusing on analyzing the government’s role in the innovation process. The model proposed integrates means for achieving sustainable life concepts and technology management concepts, in order to capture the main dynamic structural and system components. The model is then used to simulate three evolving scenarios in the technology introduction process, based on the level of capabilities that the productive organizations may achieve through distinct learning dynamics: a problem scenario, an operational learning scenario, and a technological learning scenario. Results show the potential that simulation using system dynamics has to become a scientific methodology that enables integrating different theoretical components and exploring the structural causes of the behavior of the complex phenomena associated with innovation.
