Abstract
SALAZAR YEPES, Gloria Stella and RODRIGUEZ CORDOBA, María del Pilar. Ethics and the stock market professionals: A survey of four Colombian cities. Cuad. Adm. [online]. 2012, vol.25, n.44, pp.117-139. ISSN 0120-3592.
A survey was conducted on the public stock market professional behaviors that are morally accepted by Colombian investors from four cities around the country. For such purpose, theoretical developments on ethics, economics and finance were reviewed, followed by the application of the Behavior Anchored Research Scale (BARS) technique, taken from organizational psychology. Based on the mentioned theoretical framework, the public stock market professional behaviors were grouped by three dimensions: honesty, responsibility, and fair information management. The conclusions highlight the pertinence of the methodology employed, both for further research on the topic and for other business administration areas.
Keywords : Ethics; finance ethics; financial markets; stock market professionals.
