MONSALVE UPEGUI, María Elicenia; CHAVERRA FERNANDEZ, Dora Inés and BOLIVAR BURITICA, Wilson. CHARACTERIZATION AND EVALUATION OF THE REASONABLENESS SKILL IN WRITTEN PRODUCTION OF MULTIMODAL TEXTS. This article aims at presenting the results obtained from the characterization and evaluation of the reasonability skill present in the production of argumentative texts with multimodal discursive features. Arguing in school and multimodal writing constitute the theoretical framework. A qualitative approach, based on an ethnographic design, specifically microethnography, was used in the research. A group of 35 seventh grade students was sampled from a public educational institution in the city of Medellin, Colombia. Findings indicate that students presented plausible reasons in their texts, and they incorporated modes of representation to strengthen and validate their arguments, supported by images, videos or website links, which keep a semantic and consistent relation with the text developed.
Keywords : Argumentation; evaluation; writing; multimodality; skill reasonableness.
