Greetings, dear readers. The editorial group of the Revista Colombiana de Gastroenterología (Colombian Journal of Gastroenterology) is delighted to present the fourth issue of volume 35, the last installment of the journal for 2020. We have worked hard to publish the interesting material included in this issue.
This issue presents an outstanding study carried out in Peru on risk factors for malignancy in vesicular polyps, as well as an Editorial addressing this paper and authored by Dr. Ricardo Oliveros. Also, an article proposing the management of Zenker’s diverticulum with or without overtubes is presented. Another paper discusses the experience with cholangiography in a reference cancer center and the comparison of 2 agents for colonoscopy preparation. Other studies of interest conducted in different places address the treatment of intestinal obstruction in Cauca, and cirrhosis and bacteremia in Antioquia, both departments located in Colombia.
In addition, literature reviews and rare clinical cases are also included in this issue of the journal, and we hope they encourage discussions and further studies. Regarding our internationalization process, we received a letter to the editor from Spain about bronchoesophageal fistula.
As mentioned in preceding issues, on this occasion, we will highlight the great work and importance of peer reviewers, who are crucial to improving the quality of the scientific documents within the editorial process. For this reason, from now on, we will disclose the names of the reviewers who, throughout the year, took the time and had the will to act as referees and editorial peers for our beloved journal.
After releasing this issue, we expect to receive feedback from readers and exchange scientific letters on the topics discussed here.
We wish you a joyful 2021 filled with enthusiasm, achieved goals, plenty of reading, many reviews, and lots of articles submitted to the journal
