Abstract

The article analyzes the incidence that intra -industry competency and enterprise agglomerations have had regionally in the economic growth of food industry in Colombia. The study is based on knowledge transfer theories among enterprises. The statistical information used is from DANE and financial information is from Superintendencia de Sociedades (Superintendency of Companies), during 1979 - 2007. A Cobb-Douglas production function was estimated with balanced panel data, it was found that the major competency and industrial concentration of food enterprises is associated to a major economic growth.
