Abstract
HERRERA-LAVERDE, German D.; GIL, Jhon J. and DUARTE-BARON, Katherin. Evaluation of composed thin-wall steel sections with unreinforced concrete under bending loads. Ing. compet. [online]. 2023, vol.25, n.2, e-20211800. Epub May 05, 2023. ISSN 0123-3033. https://doi.org/10.25100/iyc.v25i2.11800.
The main objective of this research was to evaluate the behavior of composite sections of different configurations subjected to bending, considering the parameters established by ANSI/AISC, NSR-10, ACI-18 and laboratory tests such as the four-point bending test. Theoretical studies were used to evaluate the stiffness, strength and stresses of the sections in order to categorize and compare them with reinforced concrete sections and structural steel sections. Laboratory tests verified the effectiveness of the theoretical calculation and the real behavior of the materials. The test results showed a close theoretical validation and a ductile and favorable bending behavior due to the isolation of the compressed and tensioned parts.
