Abstract
POZZO, María Isabel and ROSSO, Florencia. Teaching Academic Writing in Virtual Environments: Challenges of the Pandemic in Postgraduate Education. Folios [online]. 2023, n.58, pp.56-74. Epub Jan 27, 2024. ISSN 0123-4870. https://doi.org/10.17227/folios.58-16014.
The object of this article is the academic writing practices and their teaching in the postgraduate level during the covid-19 pandemic, in 2020. For this purpose, we conducted a case study in a Master Degree in University Teaching at a public university in Argentina. Within the framework of a qualitative-quantitative approach, we surveyed and systematized practices of teaching writing and identified those that favor its appropriation in virtual and interdisciplinary environments. With these aims, we conducted non-participant observations of online classes and interviews with a cohort of students of this degree. Due to the interdisciplinary collaborative process that they enable, including technologies in teaching introduces equality of conditions in the production of knowledge. However, this depends on the pedagogical intentionality in which they are used. From these results, we conclude that, both in virtual and face-to-face environments, the reproduction of content is transcended if there are context-aware purposes for teaching writing and students' formative trajectories.
