Abstract

MUNOZ, William Pachón. Social Inclusion of Actors in the Colombian Armed Conflict: Challenges for Higher Education. Desafíos [online]. 2018, vol.30, n.1, pp.279-308. ISSN 0124-4035.  https://doi.org/10.12804/revistas.urosario.edu.co/desafios/a.4917.

The article discusses the process of reintegration of veterans of the armed conflict in Colombia into social and economic life and the role of higher education. It does so from the perspective of inclusive education and addresses conceptual and legal elements related to the process of demobilisation, disarmament, and reintegration in Colombia over the past three decades and its relationship to higher education institutions. The article concludes that universities must counteract political, economic and psychosocial barriers in order to ensure effective social inclusion in a post-conflict scenario in Colombia.

Keywords : Colombia; postconflict; former combatants; higher education; inclusive education; social inclusion.
