Abstract

This research report is the result of a study in which a theoretical review of the concept of competence in higher education was carried out to confront how Colombia's universities are acting on the guidance given to Law programs. The worldwide trend, brought from the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), is the training of professionals guided by the focus on competencies. In Latin America, we have developed a set of actions in order to determine the general and specific competence for each profession; law in the case of the Tuning Project, in which 65 institutions of higher education were part of presented a proposal for the discipline specific competences, which were categorized in order of importance. Finally, It is a study in which predominates the harmonized document analysis with elements of legal, descriptive, expository and explanatory research.
