Abstract
RESTREPO ESPINOZA, María Helena; LOZANO SUAREZ, Luz María and NIETO MENDOZA, Isaac Clemente. The future of an eternal illusion: the unfulfilled promise of recognition of the victims in Colombia through the device of internal forced displacement. Justicia [online]. 2023, vol.28, n.43, pp.71-86. Epub Nov 23, 2023. ISSN 0124-7441. https://doi.org/10.17081/just.28.43.5429.
Objective:
analyze internal forced displacement as a biopolitical device in the specificity of the Colombian context. It emphasizes on victim´s testimonies, and the concepts they have about justice and politics designed by the State.
Methodology:
we developed an analytical study based on documentary sources of the legislations of internal forced displacement in Colombia, that included the regulations regarding peace agreements and reparation for victims of the armed conflict. This was combined with experiences based on interviews of victims 2013 and 2021.
Results:
the critical philosophical analytics enhanced by ethnography, allows us to confirm that the appraisal of the value of life itself operates as a transaction in the form of a promise of services, objects of reparation and restitution. The above accounts for subjective transformations derived from the notion of victim that, from the political economy, goes through the experience and feelings of these subjects.
Conclusions:
we offer a novel reflection on the Colombian forced internal displacement, through the biopolitics and the discourse of the victims, giving an account of the limitations in the fulfillment of the policies of reparation and attention to the victims, which skew the experience of the victims.
