Abstract The present study approaches the study of the process of increase of military expense in the Cuban Republic and the effects that on the social progress of its nation. The influence of the process of transformation of the Rebel Cuban Army in the Rebel Armed Forces under the model of organized determined by the Warsaw Pact, as well as the effects of the military dictatorship of Rafael Leónidas Trujillo on Dominican Republic. The effects of the scale in military expenses it has been projected beyond the fall of the USSR and continues determining to a great extent the Caribbean as a space arranges the multilateral confrontation of big powers of the area.
