This text identifies the research carried out on socioscientific issues CSC in the Colombian context. For this, a systematic review was carried out in the period 2010-2020. 135 academic products were analyzed, according to the inclusion criteria considered in the documentary search of this article. Products were organized into five categories: use of CSCs to promote argumentation; development of critical thinking from the use of the CSC; CSC and teacher training, CSC and in-terdisciplinarity; CSC and appropriation of scientific concepts. A greater amount of bibliographic production was found in the category of teacher training and in fewer products in the category CSC and appropriation of scientific concepts. This review reveals how the CSC are a field of study that has been strengthened in the country with the purpose of promoting a contextualized scientific education. Among the main challenges is the need to promote publications in the international context, deepen processes of curricular foundation from the CSC, to recognize the conceptual appropriation and the interdisciplinary work that is generated with its implementation.
