From the conceptual and methodological contributions of the approaches of: Do no Harm, conflict transformation, popular education, interculturality, and from the territory, participation is recognized as an essential element to build peace. In Catatumbo, communities have historically built different ways to face state abandonment and the systematic violence that exists there. The construction of the Catatumbo Intercultural Peace Agenda illustrates a concrete experience that, guided by these five approaches, reflects the importance of participation in the construction and consolidation of peace in this region.
