Abstract

HOYOS, JOHN et al. PRINCIPIOS TERMODINÁMICOS DE LA REFRIGERACIÓN MAGNÉTICA. Dyna rev.fac.nac.minas [online]. 2006, vol.73, n.149, pp.95-105. ISSN 0012-7353.

Magnetic refrigeration is one of the technologies with a high commercial potential due to its environment and energetic advantages among conventional ones. The main thermodynamic aspects of the magnetocaloric effect are presented. Magnetic transformations and magnetic refrigeration technology, are based in the magnetocaloric effect. Also, the Carnot, Brayton and Magnetic Active Regeneration cycles are explained. It is important to notice that the Magnetic Active Regenerative cycle is used in applications with room temperatures.

Keywords : magnetic refrigeration; magnetocaloric effect; magnetic cycles; magnetic materials; magnetic entropy.
