Introduction: Studies on economic evaluation are frequently used by health authorities in order to maximize inversion in health resources. Although clinicians do not commonly include economic studies in their daily practice, these studies amend the available evidence in order to improve the decision making process concerning a particular patient. Objective: The purpose of this article is to bring clinicians closer to a general understanding of the studies on economic evaluation. Development: The main types of economic evaluation in a clinical context are discussed.
