Introduction: For the therapist psychotherapy means an extended journey of thinking together with colleagues to be able to respond to the needs of patients suffering from complex mental pathologies, and in the treatment of which it is necessary to take into consideration the peculiarities both of their inner world and of their environment. Objective: The purpose of this paper is to share a way of carrying out our job. Development: The "a la carte" treatment" is an invitation to think that it is possible to use available resources in order to create a therapeutic proposal characterized by its plurality, taking into consideration the people, the places and the motive, and that is adapted to needs of the patient and his/her family, favoring not only the outcome, but life itself of those involved
