The Mexican Revolution brought about significant transformations in land distribution, as well as new laws and institutions providing for the distribution of land to villages and communities. Between 1911 and 1924, the National Agrarian Commission was the entity in charge of implementing the agrarian reform in Mexico. However, both the legislation and the institutions underwent changes during this period, due to the different political groups that came to power and the process of formation of the Mexican State.
