The introduction of the central venous catheter (CVC) has meant a great advance in the modern medicine and its generalized use has allowed the development of new techniques you diagnose and specialized treatments. The intravascular catheterization is one of the most common procedures made in the present time. It is used for homodynamic monitory, homodynamic monitory, metabolic and nutritional support, the administration of liquids, chemotherapy and prolonged antibiotic therapy, blood and derivatives, among others. The frequent complications include: infections, arterial puntion, hydrothorax and hemothorax.
