This study has the aim to analyse the civil and penal responsibility of professional doctors in the practice of tele medicine in Colombia. It is an exploratory research based on surveys and interviews to telemedical experts, carried out in several cities of the country. Through the use of online tools it was possible to identify the barriers to the consolidation of telemedicine due to the Lex Artis is full of scientific knowledge and successful cases that pretend to achieve the recognition of the practice of distance medicine and its progresses. In the present study, it was useful the support of prestigious institutions, as well as the reading of the current Colombian telemedicine legislation. As a conclusion, it can be said that it is worth highlighting the need to complete the normative gaps in telemedicine, in order to give a legal answer to the effects of this medical modality that responds to the problem of coverage in health in the Colombian territory.
