Abstract

DIAZ, Ana María Correa  and  GUZMAN PEREZ, Feibert Alirio. Relationship between interculturality and law at Universidad Autonóma Latinoamericana. Rev. Fac. Derecho Cienc. Polit. - Univ. Pontif. Bolivar. [online]. 2019, vol.49, n.130, pp.51-80.  Epub Sep 15, 2019. ISSN 0120-3886.  https://doi.org/10.18566/rfdcp.v49n130.a03.

This scientific paper seeks to generate new intercultural knowledge by studying Afro-descendants, visually impaired and indigenous people at the Universidad Autónoma Latinoamericana, Medellin campus. All of this is justified by the need to apply the legal principles of equality and non-discrimination, based on race or income, among the student body. The intention is to expand political participation spaces of students belonging to diverse ethnic backgrounds. To achieve this goal, a documental methodology, involving surveys and in-depth interviews, was resorted to. Hence, discovery and Socratic dialogue were encouraged. In this order of ideas, equity was deemed to be a fundamental and constitutive element of justice and peace, both national and global. In conclusion, it can be said that there are plenty of law and cultural changes required in order to make minorities live side by side, in an equal conditions' environment, with major groups recognized in education, organizations, and politics.
