Abstract

RICARDO, ALZATE  and  FUENTES, LADY. Hamiltonian optimization in a power converter circuit. Integración - UIS [online]. 2013, vol.31, n.2, pp.133-146. ISSN 0120-419X.

This article presents the application of the optimization theory on the regulation of the output voltage in an electrical system. In order to achieve it, a mathematical formulation is developed for a hybrid dynamical system describing a power converter circuit. Then, the Pontryagin's maximum principle is applied to the system trying to solve the optimization control problem of providing a regulated output voltage to the system load. Simulation results show a good performance for the Hamiltonian-based control strategy proposed to reduce the regulation error. Experimental results on a real circuit prototype are part of current ongoing work.

Keywords : Control; Hamiltonian; optimization; power converter system.
