Abstract

LAGUNA, Rogelio. The New Atlantis and the Social Dominance of Nature in Francis Bacon. Prax. filos. [online]. 2021, n.52, pp.145-158.  Epub Apr 13, 2021. ISSN 0120-4688.  https://doi.org/10.25100/pfilosofica.v0i52.10658.

In the following pages we explain that the New Atlantis of Bacon presents the social program of modern science and is not a work of a purely literary or fictional nature. We believe that this work by Bacon is a knowledge-mastery program of nature that shows the social and practical direction of science in the new routes of knowledge.

Keywords : Modernity; Utopia; Technology; Nature; Science.
