Abstract
CORONA CADENA, Rubén Ignacio. THE MIMETIC MECHANISMS OF REPRODUCTION OF VIOLENCE SEEN THROUGH NARCO-CORRIDOS. Univ. philos. [online]. 2010, vol.27, n.55, pp.221-229. ISSN 0120-5323.
The following article tries to show the rivalry dynamics arisen between Mexican State and drug gangs. From René Girard's Mimetic theory, it is possible to say that a dynamic of equalization (igualamiento) is progressively occurring. The strong increase of violence in the Mexican war against drug gangs can be explained by this dynamic. This article seeks to analyze the origin and development of the equalization between State and traffickers, through the narco-corridos viewpoint. These popular songs, the corridos, offer a privileged key to grasp this conflict.
Keywords : narco-corridos; equalization; mimetic theory; conflict; difference.
