In spite of the little experience with ligation endoscopic of varices esofagic (LEVE) in pediatric patients and are few the reports which compare its results with the esclerotherapy that guarantees the (LEVE) as a reliable and effective technique in the varicose veins ensofagic treatment in this age group. In this report are presented a series of cases or events of children with varicose veins to whom were done the (LEVE) between October 30, 2005 and September 30, 2006, as treatment or preventive handling (primary prevention) of the hemorrhage digestive tract, the experience of the authors and a short review of the literature are presented concluding the applicability of said procedure in this group of patients.
