Abstract

The present work was done in the municipality of Pasto, Nariño department, Colombia, at 2,710 m a.s.l. The objective was to evaluate the reaction of the potato clones Blanca, Pintada, Rosada Capiro, Roja Guata, Roja Redonda and Roja Loca and three improved varieties: Parda Suprema, Roja Nariño and Betina to the late blight (Phytophthora infestans) attack. A random block design with four repetitions and nine treatments was used. Regarding the severity variable the best genotypes were: Blanca, Pintada, Parda Suprema and Betina with means of 19.72, 21.99, 23.15 and 23.62% respectively. The genotypes Blanca, Pintada, Parda Suprema, Betina and Roja Loca recorded the best yield with 29.61, 24.66, 25.71, 27.12 and 28.05 t·ha-1 respectively.
