Abstract

This article presents some messages and meanings derived from the spatial organization in the Gran Estacion Mall, located in Bogotá, Colombia. The landscape provided there is equated to a text subject to interpretation. Thus, users readings are examined in order to evidence the role played by mall promoters as authors of this type of built environments. Topics such as the pseudo public space and excessive control or security are made evident.
