This article aims to update the discussion on the issue of alimentary (in)security in Brazil, from the perspective of two hypotheses to justify the concentration of income and the agrarian concentration. From these two hypotheses, an analysis of major public policies implemented during President Lula's two terms, and which regard alimentary security, is carried out: the welfare programs Zero Hunger and Bolsa Familia.
