Abstract

The coffee-growing region of the Department of Quindío is an area in which international tourism is emerging as an economic activity with regional impact. The objective of this article is to provide a detailed view of the organization of the tourism market over the last decade. In the first place, it analyzes the legal framework for international tourism in Colombia and Quindío; then, it examines the international tourism actors in the region studied and the relationships among them; and, finally, it determines their impacts on the regional and local labor markets.
