Abstract

This paper presents the results of a study on the state of research in education and pedagogy in the Coffee Region in Colombia. The methodology used was the documentary. The justifications of their processes were sought in the leaders' voices, which gives us a comprehensive view of these dynamics. As the main findings, we identified the predominance of the research topic on education and human development; the formulation of objectives aimed at understanding educational phenomena; and the hermeneutic research methods, which indicate an important decrease in explanatory studies and the emergence of approaches based on complementarity. It is concluded that most groups assume theoretical frameworks from the topics inherent to the field of research rather than a deep reflection on the issue of the ontological, epistemological and methodological relevance of the discursive objects of investigation.
