Abstract

DIAS DA SILVA, Roberto Rafael. Possibilities for Democratic School Governance in Basic Education Curricula in Brazil. Pedagogía y Saberes [online]. 2022, n.57, pp.51-60.  Epub Nov 17, 2022. ISSN 0121-2494.  https://doi.org/10.17227/pys.num57-13800.

The present theoretical study aims to map some possibilities for democratic school governance in basic education curricula, expanding our critical diagnosis and opening new horizons of pedagogical action in Brazil. Its approach is part of the field of Curricular Studies and will be emphasized the policies of the constitution of school knowledge, taking as a starting point the diagnosis of current curricular policies and the processes of financialization of life now predominant. In general, challenges will be drawn for the composition of an investigative agenda about democratic school governance. Finding curricular alternatives, under this understanding, involves a defense of democratic orientation in curricular policies, the search for new arrangements for organizing curricular practices, and revitalization of forms of curricular differentiation, as opposed to ongoing curricular standardization in the Brazilian context.

Keywords : curriculum; school knowledge; governance; Brazil.
