Abstract

TUTOR-SANCHEZ, Joaquín D  and  TAKEUCHI, Noboru. THE IMPORTANCE OF OUTREACH AND EDUCATION ACTIVITIES IN NANOTECHNOLOGY. Momento [online]. 2015, n.51, pp.45-58. ISSN 0121-4470.

Abstract Nanoscience is the study of structures of size between 1 and 100 nanometers, called nanostructures, which, due to their small size scales behave differently from those at micro and macroscopic scales. These new properties of the materials could result in the manufacture of new products and development of new technologies. There are so many possible applications that it is believed that we are at the beginning of a new technological revolution. In this paper the importance of outreach and scientific and technological training in nanoscience and nanotechnology is argued. It is also briefly mentioned undertaken actions in this sense by the International Network "Jose Roberto Leite" of Outreach and Training in Nanotechnology, NANODYF (www.nanodyf.com).

Keywords : Outreach; Training; Nanoscience; Nanotechnology.
