Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to learn about experiences of postpartum teens in the first contact with their baby in the delivery room. Methodology: This was a study of qualitative approach and descriptive type. It is a cutting of the multicenter research Humanized Attention to Adolescents Childbirth. Ten adolescent puerperae who had their deliveries at the participant hospital of the research were the sample of this study during period from November 2008 to November 2009. For analysis, data hematic analysis was used (10). Results: After analyzing data we obtained two themes: The contact between mother and baby in delivery room and The actions held in the delivery room to stimulate the mother-baby bound. It was found that for some adolescent mothers, first contact with the baby was in the delivery room and the action more prominent in the delivery room to stimulate the mother's bound with her baby was breastfeeding.
