Abstract
CASTELO BRANCO DE OLIVEIRA, Ana Lívia et al. Presenteeism: factors of risk and repercussions on the health of nursing workers. av.enferm. [online]. 2018, vol.36, n.1, pp.79-87. ISSN 0121-4500. https://doi.org/10.15446/av.enferm.v36n1.61488.
Objective:
to contextualize and reflect on the Betty Neuman model of systems at the interface between presenteeism and the work environment and health of the nursing worker.
Synthesis of Contents:
this is a qualitative, theoretical and reflective study, based on the theoretical framework of Betty Neuman, in the light of national and foreign studies published between 2009 to 2017.
Conclusions:
the study found that presenteeism physical, psychological, sociocultural, developmental and spiritual harms to nursing workers due to the stressors of their working environment, such as an excessive workload and health, physical and ergonomic risks. Thus, combating presenteeism depends on a healthy interaction between the individuals and the environment in which they live and work and it should consider aspects which minimize such stressors and prevent such harms.
