Abstract

QUINTERO MARQUEZ, Viviana; OTERO BAHAMON, Silvia  and  BOLIVAR RAMIREZ, Ingrid. The forensic approach to sexual homicide in the context of armed conflict[title]. [subtitle]The case of "El Salado" massacre. anal.polit. [online]. 2011, vol.24, n.71, pp.109-128. ISSN 0121-4705.

During the last decade, the discussion of sexual violence in the Colombian conflict has called the attention of scholars and activists. One of the most relevant concerns about this matter has dealt with the official attention that is given to these cases; but there is not much analysis on the forensic work. Studies on the type of medical legal approach devoted to women who, after being raped, are assassinated by the armed actors, practically do not exist. This article intends to open the black box of medical legal approach in the massacre of "El Salado", through the understanding of the factors that facilitated or obstructed the search of useful evidences for the investigation of possible sex crimes committed against women murdered there.

Keywords : Sexual violence; evidence of sex crimes; armed conflict; medical legal approach; massacre; female corpses.
