Abstract

This article analyzes the mining boom since the year 2000 in Colombia. Firstlywe reviewed the institutional and fiscal design that has been legislated in the last decade. Secondly, it is examined the relationship with the political and territorial dimensions of military securitization of the mineral resources. And finally, we observed the socio-environmental conflicts and social organization that has entered to contest the juridical and military control (legal and illegal) of the extractive geographies. Thus, the article contributes to the debate about extractivism, analyzing the economic and coercive mechanisms, that have played in the expansion of the mining frontier in Colombia.
