Abstract

HURTADO CADAVID, John Jaime. THE ROLE OF TRUTH IN THE VICTIMS’ RE-SUBJECTIVATION PROCESSES IN COLOMBIA. anal.polit. [online]. 2019, vol.32, n.95, pp.62-81. ISSN 0121-4705.  https://doi.org/10.15446/anpol.v32n95.80830.

This article analyzes the different ways of reconstructing the truth, stating the necessary complementarity of the resort to judicial truth, the historical memory commissions endorsed by the State and the alternative activities for the reconstruction of truth, and discussing the current challenges for the benefit of the victims. Then, it emphasizes the relevance of alternative activities, since they can allow victims a process of re-subjectivation through which the acceptance of living with the consequences of harm is assumed and the victims have the opportunity to restore the community bonds that enables them to articulate economic and moral reparation measures and to rebuild a dignified life. For that purpose, some support groups gathered around the recognition of victims’ rights and the expression of emotions caused by the effects of the war are analyzed.

Keywords : truth; vulnerability; precarity; precariousness; re-subjectivation.
