Abstract
CARO, Isaac; QUITRAL, Máximo and RIQUELME, Jorge. POPULISM AND FOREIGN POLICY: THE CASE OF DONALD TRUMP’S UNITED STATES. anal.polit. [online]. 2022, vol.35, n.104, pp.224-243. Epub Dec 14, 2022. ISSN 0121-4705. https://doi.org/10.15446/anpol.v35n104.105180.
The article analyzes how the populist leadership of Donald Trump affected US foreign policy. In this sense, it points out that, as a Jacksonian President and with his own approach as a businessperson, Trump put into practice a markedly nationalist and personalistic diplomatic style, which had multilateralism and international liberal order among its main victims. At the same time, Trump assumed a relevant role as a benchmark for a radical new right.
